Almost all the kids in America play games on their computers or devices. They are little gamers who might enjoy puzzle games, detective games, pet games, math games or some other genre of games. This video of going analog helps us understand that many a time real life is the most immerssive/realistic world we should play in. It is a wonderful thing to get together and play actual games.

Five Senses by Nicki Dugan Pogue

Here are 5 games involving the five senses:

1. Touch

Take a medium sized jar, into which your hand/fist should fit easily. Fill half the jar with some dry kidney beans. Next throw in 20 plain metallic paper clips. Goal of the games is to get the paper clips out with just one hand. The twist in this game is that the player is blindfolded. Essentially the player uses just his sense of touch to seaparate the clips. The last thing - it's timed. The player has a minute to separate the 20 paper clips.

2. Smell

Collect 20 materials (spices, paints, foodstuff etc.) with distinct smells in 20 separate containers with labels saying what's inside. Al the players get a chance to smell them all and read the labels. The goal is to blindfold people and get them to smell the materials. The challenge is to see how many they can identify.

3. Sight

Collect 10 things (edible or otherwise) in twos. E.g. Two small bowls of chips. Put them all on a tray, in bowls, in a mixed up order. Within a minute, the player should be able to rearrange the tray with all similar items side by side.

4. Taste

Collect 20 edible food items with distinct taste in 20 separate containers with labels saying what's inside. Al the players get a chance to see them and read the labels. The goal is to blindfold people and get them to taste the items. The challenge is to see how many they can identify.

5. Sound

6-7 players can play this game. One player has to sit facing a corner of the room. The rest spread out. They must take turns to say a short sentence from a place without moving. The player in the corner, must identify the voice and guess where that player is sitting.

Al the games are time bound, and players have a minute to play. Have fun!
